The Golden Gate of Agia Napa

A panoramic sunset over the Love Bridge in Agia Napa, Cyprus, captured during a professional landscape photography expedition in February 2026 by Jan Smid. Warm evening light illuminating a natural limestone arch over the Mediterranean Sea.

This photograph was taken at the iconic "Bridge of Love" near Agia Napa during our inaugural group Cyprus Photo Expedition in February 2026. This natural limestone arch creates a perfect window for the Mediterranean sunset, capturing the final golden rays of the day as they ignite the limestone textures.

Choosing the winter "off-season" is a deliberate, strategic move. As I discussed in my article on Underrated Landscape Photography Destinations, Cyprus truly shines when the summer haze disappears. At this time of year, the sun hits the rugged cliffs at a sharp angle that emphasizes depth and highlights the crystalline clarity of the turquoise water.

This frame is the culmination of years of private scouting across the island. Our February 2026 success proved that this deep local knowledge allows us to time these complex panoramic shoots with surgical precision.

Following this milestone, we are returning to these coastlines in November 2026 and March 2027. We will continue to explore the dramatic cliffs of Agia Napa, the Kyrenia Mountains, and the untamed Akamas Peninsula during the island's most cinematic lighting windows.

Panorama compiled from total of 130 frames (5-level exposure bracketing of 20 frames in two rows, 30 antireflective frames).
