📅 5th – 13th November 2026 |📍 Cyprus | 👤 Max 6 Participants | 📸 Up to 3 Instructors incl. Jan Šmíd, Master QEP

Join Jan Šmíd, Master QEP for a premium Cyprus North–South Photo Expedition designed for photographers who want to experience the island during one of its most rewarding seasons for landscape photography.

November in Cyprus feels like an extended Mediterranean summer — but with dramatically better light. The intense heat of summer is gone, the Mediterranean Sea remains warm, and the first seasonal clouds begin to return to the sky, creating the kind of atmosphere landscape photographers wait for.

If you’re curious why Cyprus has become one of the most underrated landscape photography destinations in Europe, you can read more about the landscapes, seasons and locations in this article: 👉 Underrated Landscape Photography Destinations – Why Cyprus Belongs on Every Photographer’s Radar

This is not a sightseeing trip. It’s real landscape photography training in real conditions — working with changing light, composition, exposure control, and both single-frame and panoramic workflows directly in the field.

This expedition is designed to explore the island from the Troodos Mountains to the Kyrenia range and the eastern Mediterranean coast. Cyprus remains a largely undiscovered destination for serious landscape photography, and true north–south landscape expeditions across the island are still extremely rare.

Our route is the result of three private expeditions and more than three months spent photographing across Cyprus, followed by a successful group expedition that confirmed the strength of the locations, timing and workflow in real workshop conditions. Everything is designed around photography first.

⭐ Why November?

Because Cyprus offers one of the most unique combinations in Europe: Mediterranean summer conditions with dramatically better landscape light. While much of Europe is already cold and grey, Cyprus remains warm, bright and photographically rich.

Troodos Mountains
The mountains offer clear air, comfortable temperatures and soft seasonal light revealing the rugged ridgelines and forests of the island’s interior. Traditional villages and vineyards add character and texture to the landscape.

Kyrenia (Pentadaktylos) Mountains
After the dry summer months, occasional autumn showers often bring the Kyrenia range back to life. Fresh greenery contrasts with the dramatic limestone ridges rising sharply above the Mediterranean, creating some of the most striking mountain landscapes on the island.

Coast & Sea Caves
Along the coast around Protaras and Ayia Napa, the Mediterranean Sea remains warm enough for swimming even in November. For photographers, the season brings a huge advantage over summer — more dynamic skies and atmospheric light instead of the completely cloudless conditions typical of the hot season.

📸 One of the most underrated landscape destinations in Europe
Cyprus is often seen as a beach holiday destination. In reality it’s a compact landscape playground: rugged mountains, dramatic limestone ridges, hidden coves, sea caves and coastal cliffs — all within short driving distances that allow us to react quickly to changing light and weather. For landscape photographers, it remains one of the most underrated destinations in Europe.

Workshop format

This expedition is intentionally small and highly personalized.

With only 6 participants and up to four instructors, you’ll get intensive one-on-one mentoring directly in the field.

We’ll cover:

  • composition and scene selection

  • exposure and light timing

  • single-frame storytelling

  • panoramas and multi-row workflows

  • long exposures and seascapes

  • efficient field-to-file workflow

Everything is taught in real locations under real light, exactly the way landscape photography works outside the classroom.

🗺️ What Will We See During the Photo Expedition?

This Cyprus landscape photography expedition does not follow a rigid day-by-day schedule — and that’s intentional.

Each day we adapt to light, weather, wind and sea conditions to photograph the most dramatic locations in the best possible light. Our route connects three very different parts of the island: the Troodos Mountains, the Kyrenia (Pentadaktylos) range, and the eastern Mediterranean coast.

Outside the main sunrise and sunset sessions we explore both iconic viewpoints and lesser-known locations — from dramatic mountain ridges and historic castle viewpoints like St. Hilarion, to sea caves, arches and turquoise coves along the Protaras and Ayia Napa coastline.

No crowds. No rushed sightseeing. Just clean landscapes, great light and time to focus on photography.

During the expedition you’ll photograph Mediterranean mountain landscapes, dramatic limestone ridges and powerful coastal seascapes with arches, caves and long-exposure surf — all within one compact island. Cyprus remains one of the most underrated landscape photography destinations in Europe, and this expedition reveals exactly why.

How We Work: Flexible, Real-World Shooting (what about the itinerary)?

We don’t run a fixed day-by-day itinerary. Like most of our workshops, Cyprus follows a conditions-based plan — we adapt each day to light, weather, wind, tides and clouds to deliver the strongest possible photographic results.

Thanks to on-the-ground scouting and deep local knowledge of Troodos, Kyrenia (Pentadaktylos) and the Protaras / Ayia Napa coast, we always choose the right location for the moment — snow-covered ridges, limestone spines, or sea caves and arches when light and tide align.

Our focus is high-quality landscape photography — single frames, panoramas and long exposures. Between key photo sessions, we also explore iconic and lesser-known locations mentioned in the expedition intro, combining guided exploration with documentary-style shooting for a complete experience.

🎯 Our mission is simple: To help every participant create the best images possible — every single day.

This photo expedition is designed as an intensive field-based learning experience, where photography is taught directly in real landscapes and changing conditions. If you want to understand how expeditions, private courses and mentoring connect into one complete education system — and how individual formats complement each other — you can read a detailed explanation here.

For photographers planning more premium landscape workshops in 2027, explore our Namibia Photo Expedition 2027 and Alaska Fall Photo Workshop 2027 — two high-end adventures offering completely different environments: the dramatic desert landscapes and night skies of Namibia in April, and the autumn tundra colors, glaciers and potential Aurora Borealis in Alaska in September (fotoexpedice Namibie 2027, fotoexpedice Aljaška 2027, fotoworkshop Aljaška).

The Alaska Fall Photo Workshop 2027 focuses on autumn tundra colors, glacier landscapes and the possibility of photographing the Aurora Borealis.

Many photographers combine one of our European landscape workshops with either Namibia or Alaska to build a diverse portfolio across very different environments and seasons.

  • To maintain a premium experience we limit the expedition to a maximum of 6 participants.

This small group size allows for personal coaching, flexible schedules and maximum time shooting in the best light.
