Hidden Veins of the Arctic

A high-detail panoramic photograph taken during our highly successful June 2025 Group Photo Expedition to the Lofoten Islands, featuring vibrant green algae at a secret location.

This photograph was captured at one of our exclusive scouting locations during our highly successful June 2025 Group Photo Expedition to the Lofoten Islands. While other tours stick to the crowded landmarks, we led our group to this hidden gem, discovered during my private scouting missions, to exploit its unparalleled textures and raw Arctic atmosphere.

The vibrant green algae, set against the dark volcanic rock, create a powerful leading line that dominates the frame. Under the dramatic, stormy clouds of the Midnight Sun season, the soft, diffused light allowed our participants to capture every microscopic detail of this prehistoric landscape. This image perfectly illustrates what we teach during our Lofoten Photo Workshops: how to achieve technical dominance and create world-class panoramas even in challenging conditions.

Following the massive success and incredible results from our 2025 group, we are opening bookings for the next Lofoten Midnight Sun Photo Expedition 2026. If you want to go "beyond the maps" and master high-end panoramic workflows in a small, focused group, this is your opportunity. For a deeper dive into the techniques we used during this expedition, check out our blog: How to Photograph Midnight Sun in Lofoten.

Panorama compiled from total of 78 frames (3-level exposure bracketing of 26 frames in three rows).
