Lights in the Sea

Multi-award-winning night panoramic photograph "Lights in the Sea" showing the illuminated village of Reine from the Reinebringen viewpoint. Captured by Jan Smid, Master QEP, in 2018.

The weather was really good for this November photo expedition to Norwegian Lofoten. So we didn't hesitate and chose one of Lofoten's photographic icons - Reinebringen. The night climb was definitely worth it.

The model was "Mr. Tilak", or Roman Kamler, the founder and owner of the legendary outdoor brand Tilak. I have to say that he did a great job and stood still for 30 seconds :)

The photo has been awarded Honorable Mention at “Fine Art Photography Awards” 2018 in London, 3× Honorable Mention at “The International Photography Awards” 2019 in Los Angeles and Honorable Mention at “Tokyo International Foto Awards” 2019.

Panorama compiled from total of 21 frames (3-level exposure bracketing of 7 frames in one row).
