Autumn Sunrise over Foggy Elbe Valley
I captured this simple panoramic view almost a decade ago — during a magical early autumn morning in Saxon Switzerland. A sea of dense fog was flowing over the Elbe River, pierced only by the warm glow of scattered village lights. I recently rediscovered the RAWs and decided to finally give the image a proper finish.
While I no longer lead photo expeditions to Saxony, this image reminds me of the beauty of spontaneous moments — and why I now guide photographers to places like the Dolomites, Lofoten, or Madeira, where magic like this happens every day.
